4th Street San Rafael, 94901: I'm taking part in 3 events on the San Rafael Litquake Schedule this year. The entire event is free and starts at 10am at Rebound Bookstore, 1611 4th Street. You can pick and chose which events you attend as they move through the day down 4th Street.
11.15-12pm: Dragon Mist Children's Fantasy Writers at Locks and Lollipops 1563 4th Street. Gifted young writers aged 8-13, from the INK book club that I facilitate, will be talking about and reading from Dragon Mist, the fantasy book we wrote as a team. Dragon Mist was published by Book Passage in December 2015 and was the store's top seller for Christmas! We'll also be selling and signing books. All proceeds go to The Giving Tree, providing books to children who have little access to reading materials.
12.30-1.30pm: Pints and Prose at The Mayflower Pub, 1533 4th Street. The Tuesday Night Writers will be reading from their own works and then opening the floor to open mic readers. Bring prose pieces no longer that 3 mins for the friendliest open mic in Marin.
3.00-415pm: Who is the Wickest of Them All? Yet Wah Restaurant 1238 4th Street. I'll be the moderator between Goosebottom Books Authors Janie Havemeyer and Natasha Yim Carter in costume as Catherine de Medici, the Black Queen and Cixi, The Dragon Empress. Children get to vote on whom they think is the most dastardly dame. I might throw in a few comments as Boudica the Celtic warrior queen who nearly chased the Romans out of Britain.
